Happy Fifteenth Birthday: Clarendon Celebrate With A Trip To France!

One of the secrets of our success at Clarendon is that we encourage all our staff to talk regularly to our teams based in other Business Centres. Sharing our experiences helps us to analyse and improve the ways we look after our clients and also is a great way of reminding our staff that they are part of the bigger Clarendon family.

Last month, we celebrated the fifteenth birthday of Clarendon Business Centres by taking the whole team on a weekend trip to Paris. Although there was some work activity, the main goal of the trip was to reward our hard-working team and encourage interaction and knowledge-sharing between staff, old and new, and distant and local.

Charlotte Jilbert organised the trip and describes the experience as follows…

It was an early start for all of the 26 Clarendon team members heading off from St Pancras on the 07.20 train to Paris. Many of the team had not visited Paris before so there was a great deal of excitement. We all practiced what we had learnt at school, many of us declaring our names and the fact that we were all 11 years old! Whilst our French accents may have varied from the impressively bilingual to rather too close to an Inspector Clouseau impression, everyone was trying hard to speak French...

In conclusion, one of our team posted: "See, you work hard - you get rewarded" which really encapsulated the ethos of the trip. Everyone enjoyed themselves and have already started planning our Sixteenth Birthday Trip!

Bournemouth Focus: Congratulate Claire Adams on 10 years in business

We are delighted to congratulate our client, Claire Adams, who celebrates 10 years in business this month. Claire has been a client of Clarendon Bournemouth since 2010 and is now the proud owner of five "Tinies" childcare franchisees across the South of England. Tinies is a leading childcare specialist, helping families, nurseries and other childcare settings find the right childcare professionals.

Claire began her career as a midwife, training at the University of Hertfordshire and delivering hundreds of babies. On deciding that midwifery wasn't the path for her, she joined Tinies in 2000 as a Childcare Consultant.


Four years later, aged 27 and armed only with a bank loan, she bought the Tinies Hertfordshire franchise and grew the business from a laptop in her parents' back bedroom!

Slowly but surely, the business went from strength to strength and Claire has since invested in four other Tinies franchises, now employing ten people and with thousands of nannies, she has a business turnover of over £1million!

Claire says: "Childcare has been something I have always been passionate about and working for Tinies gave me the confidence to think I could run my own business and make a success of the franchise. It hasn't always been easy - during the recession times were tough and there were times when I couldn't draw a salary and for three years I didn't take any holidays."

Fulham Focus: Fulham Green World Cup Party!

On Tuesday 24th June Clarendon's Fulham Green held their World Cup Party on the roof terrace of Chester House. England may have been already eliminated, but this didn't dampen our spirit and stop us enjoying the game!

With nibbles and drinks aplenty, people flocked to the roof terrace, which had turned into a mini cinema for the night. Our clients had an opportunity to meet other companies based both on and off site whilst enjoying the British summer weather.

Samantha Booth, Sales Director of Profundcom commented:



"Clarendon's World Cup Party was fantastic, it's a brilliant way to meet other companies in the building. Clarendon are never ones to stick to the norm, setting up TV's and seating on the roof terrace so we could enjoy the fabulous weather too. Bracknell Focus: Welcome Richard Francis To Abbey House!

Richard Francis from The Myriad group moved into shared space in Abbey House on 1st June.

The Myriad group provide software for mobile phones and set top boxes and their flagship product is msngr (msngr.com) which provides the ability for users of feature phones and smart phones to chat to their contacts around the world.

"The Myriad Group has a head office in The Strand in Central London but we were looking for a satellite office and the location, the 24/7 access and the flexibility and competitive price of the office at Abbey House works well for us," says Richard.

"We've only just moved in," he continues, "but the transition from my home office to Abbey House went very smoothly and the Clarendon Centre team were extremely helpful, even providing a trolley to save me making several trips to my car! We are really enjoying the friendly but professional atmosphere and looking forward to settling into our new offices."

Bromley Focus: McQueens Solicitors Bromley At Kingsfisher House

McQueens Solicitors Bromley is a firm of solicitors providing legal advice, conveyancing services, employment law advice, personal injury advice and will drafting services to the local Bromley community.

McQueens Solicitors have been based at Kingfisher House in Bromley since July 2010 and are among the oldest tenants in the building.
