Dramatic Change - Engaging Leaders in Engagement

Case Study - The Commitment to Excellence Academy

"Having worked with Ray on a number of occasions before, I knew we were in for an interesting and challenging day. Neither I nor any of the members was disappointed. Real life case studies, delivered in role play format, brought to life four key principles of Engagement - Commitment, Energy, Confidence, and Competence".

"The actors were so good that, at times, I had to remind myself they were acting and were not actually real managers!"

"All the participants took away a deeper insight into gaining and maintaining an engaged workforce, and they committed to a number of action plans which will be reviewed at the next workshop in April 2010".

Lezcek Marcinowicz - Director of the CTE Academy

The Organisation

The CTE Academy comprises a group of like minded Owners/Directors from the SME Sector, who value the benefits of meeting with, sharing and learning from one another. Members recognise the loneliness and challenge of owning their own business and gain maximum benefit from discussing the issues they face with their peers in a totally safe and nurturing environment.

The Content

Our brief was to design and deliver a one-day workshop for Directors and Senior Managers of SME's where Team Engagement had been identified as a key issue and our workshop provided:
  • Clear understanding of the key areas where Engagement could be won or lost.
  • Practice in crucial engagement conversations, using professional actors and tailored role plays.
The Outcomes

Action Plans for:
  • Getting things moving
  • Involving everybody
  • Maintaining "business as usual"
Whilst recognising some of the significant organisational culture issues that could have an effect on Engagement, the focus for this workshop was on the straightforward conversations that leaders at any level can have with their people that will increase Commitment and Job Satisfaction.
