The Wadenhoe Consultancy has developed this workshop with James Walker, who is a professional racing driver.
The two-day event enables teams to prepare for a turbulent journey into the future and simulate some of the likely experiences en-route.
In two days we combine:
The Preparation - all the elements of "Back from the Future" including the vision of what success will look/feel like, team behaviours in challenging times, scenario thinking, risk analysis/contingency planning etc.
The Journey - A Grand Prix - working with James Walker, you will race on professional F1 racing simulators to replicate leadership, team-working, maintaining high energy, agility, problem solving and decision-making under significant pressure and in "crisis" situations.
The De-Brief - including what went well/not so well, how the team worked together and learning/improving for next time.
So, all the thrills and spills, ups and downs, good days/bad days associated with delivering business goals, captured in a stimulating, adrenalin-charged activity, that makes 100% connections between winning the race and delivering departmental or business plans in a fast-changing environment.
The Programme is flexible in two ways:
Teams that have already done the preparation in their organisation can attend the Grand Prix and De-Brief day only.
Organisational and/or team issues that have already been identified for improvement can be built into the simulation.
James Walker is a professional racing driver who has been racing for over 10 years.
In 2009, James competed against Jaime Alguersuari and other upcoming F1 drivers in the World Series by Renault championship - a feeder series for Formula One. He won in Spa Francorchamps, came second at Silverstone, and finished third in the Monaco Grand Prix support race. Although he was approached by an F1 team, he was unable to complete the deal for financial reasons.
In 2011, James switched to sportscar endurance racing and took part in the Daytona Rolex 24 hour race. He was then signed by JMW Motorsport driving the brand new Ferrari 458 GTE Italia in Le Mans Series 2011 GTE Pro championship. In only his first season at this level, James Walker, with his teammate Rob Bell, finished second with wins at both Paul Ricard and Estoril. This result secured a Le Mans 24 Hours entry for JMW Motorsport in 2012.
James has added driver coaching to his portfolio and, in 2011, he coached a 16 year old non-driver to three podium finishes in a row in less than 12 months!
James has also been commentating live for ESPN and works very hard helping his local and international business partners market their businesses.
