Alongside our work with larger organisations, we have a great deal of experience in the SME sector, where our main contact is often the owner or managing director. Recent assignments include:

Owners & Senior Management:
  • Developing a Support Network - It can be a lonely place at the top of any organisation. This is especially true in SME's. Based on our extensive research and experience, this workshop helps participants to explore the extent of their current network and how this can be developed in breadth and depth. Another outcome has been the growth of "networks" between participants.

  • Strategy Development - The starting point for many SME's is a "great business idea". Over time this usually needs formalising in some form of longer-term goal and a route map for achieving it. Whether or not the word "strategy" is used, our workshops use the same tools and techniques that are applied to larger organisations, but appropriately tailored for smaller organisations.

  • Business & Leadership Coaching - Three of our team have held senior positions in SME's and one was the co-founder of an award-winning hi-tec business. So we regularly provide coaching on a one-to-one basis. This tends to involve both business and leadership coaching.
Technical Specialists & Line Managers:
  • Personal Effectiveness - These workshops are generally designed for "technical specialists" who are making the transition into their first line management role. Here the challenge is achieving the right balance between "doing it yourself" and developing others to do it. The challenges are usually about finding the time to coach and judging when to "let go".

  • Engagement and Coaching Skills - Within a small team it is vitally important that everyone contributes 100% and is developed to their full potential. The workshop focuses on engaging team members through generating commitment, energy, confidence and competence.

  • Team-working & Team Development - It is surprising how small an organisation can be to have problems within and between teams. Through team development exercises, this workshop illustrates team motivation techniques and how teams can develop cross-functional support in the achievement of organisational goals.
