The Power Of Numbers
A recent example is the excellent feedback that the Wadenhoe Team received from senior and middle managers at Jaguar Land Rover (See July 2011 Newsletter). A total of 1,500 managers attended a one-day Energy & Engagement Workshop, in teams of twelve, over a six-week period.
Some might see this approach negatively, as some form of "sheep dip" training - our experience was that the sheer power of 1,500 influential managers, all working through the same issues in a concentrated timeframe, offset any such risk.
We attribute this success to four main things:
Not every organization is looking for such a large-scale intervention. However, our approach can be tailored to teams of any size.
- A strategy-driven approach, with clear links to business performance.
- A practical workshop that offered new solutions to old challenges.
- A Facilitation style that allowed flexibility for individual issues within a framework.
- A focus on measuring short-term progress, using a 90-day Engagement "Snapshot".
